Keanu Walsham

Postgraduate Researcher (3rd year)

Biography

I studied at the University of East Anglia for my Biological Sciences undergraduate degree. I became interested in molecular and microbiology and in the summer between my second and third year I was awarded a NERC funded studentship with Professor Jonathan Todd. I continued my research in my third year placement in the same lab on a similar project involving dimethylsulfoniopropionate (DMSP) and dimethylsulfioxoniumpropionate (DMSOP) catabolism in bacteria. I joined the Lea-Smith lab on a BBSRC DTP funded PhD with Professor Jonathan Todd as my co-supervisor and Professor Charles Brearley and Dr Andy Truman on my team to investigate solute metabolism in cyanobacteria.
